DYI Beach Body Scrub

DYI Beach Body Scrub

Hey folks! If you have been looking for a super simple Body Scrub. You’ve come to the correct place, especially if you live near the beach! The main ingredients to this super natural Body Scrub is SAND! All you really need is a carrier oil to transform sand into a great body scrub, however, that’s not as fun! So, I’ve created this super Sand Scrub Recipe for you with ingredients with added health benefits!

Sand Scrub Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of sifted beach sand
  • 1/4 cup of almond oil (or any other carrier oil)
  • 2 drop of rosemary Essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon of raw honey

Sift your sand to make sure there are no chunks that cause harm. Place sand in a mixing bowl. SLIGHTLY heat the almond oil, or other carrier oil, slightly, DO NOT BOIL. The oil should be warm enough to help the honey mix.  Mix Ingredients together.

Directions for use:

Wet skin, or for even better results soak in warm water so skin can absorb water and retain moisture after exfoliating. Rub desired areas with Scrub for 5-10 minutes. Allow the scrub to sit on the skin for a few moments, or if you really would like the ingredients to soak in, for 5 minutes.

Ingredients Purpose:

Beach Sand is a great natural exfoliator, and you can collect it for free at the beach! It helps remove dead skin cells and can enhance circulation.

Almond Oil is packed with Vitamin E, proteins, monounsaturated fatty acids, potassium, zinc, and other minerals and vitamins making it super nourishing for your skin! It is hypoallergenic and absorbs easily into the skin, making it a great oil for use on infants! It also can help with dark circles, eczema and irritation form the sun. It also helps repair collagen, which means its an anti-ageing oil.

Rosemary Essential Oil is used in lots of my recipes because it is a natural preservative and can keep your mixture fresher, longer! It also has some skin benefits such as eliminating eczema, dermatitis, acne, oil skin because of its antimicrobial and antiseptic qualities. If this oil is applied frequently it can help tone the skin and keep away dryness!

Raw Honey is packed with enzymes, antioxidants and other nutrients that hydrate, cleanse and nourish the skin! It will gently exfoliate the skin and because it is also an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial it can actually help prevent acne and fade scars and heal skin tissue. When you massage honey on the skin regularly it quickens the skin cell turnover rate. Another aspect of honey that makes it hydrating to the skin is that it’s a humectant, which means it pulls moisture from the air into the skin. Because of this honey can help heal sunburn.

Hope you enjoyed folks!

Enjoy your smooth skin,

I’m one of those people fortunate to live near the beach and I often use sand as part of my body scrub. But in all my years of working with therapeutic grade essential oils, I’d never seen a recipe such as yours for the “Beach Body Scrub”.

What a great idea! I’ll be sure to pass Makes 3 and your Beach Body Scrub on to as many people as possible.

You already know how much I appreciate you guys….but it can’t be said/shown enough in my book!
