Healthy Hot Cocoa Recipe You can Easily Make at Home!

‘Tis the Season for Hot Cocoa!
Hey folks,
Today we are sharing a super easy homemade Hot Cocoa recipe. We offer this as an alternative to premixed store bought powders. Store bought Hot Cocoa mixes often have a list of ingredients that are not very healthy. And if you’re a vegan, you have to be extra careful because store bought Cocoa mixes can contain have evaporated nonfat milk. They may also have artificial flavors, sodium citrate, sodium aluminosilicate, guar gum, hydrogenated soybean, and a bunch of other things that are not needed to make yummy Cocoa!
Benefits of making Hot Cocoa Powder from scratch:
-
You Have the Control!
If you like your cocoa on the darker tasting side, you can add more cocoa powder and less sugar. You also have the ability to add the type of sugar you’d like! We used Coconut Sugar in our mix!
-
You Can Add Powdered Herbs
To name a few that go great with Hot Cocoa: Ashwagandha, FO-Ti, and Kava Kava. With Kava Kava make sure you read the directions, some brands are potent! They will suggest that you don’t drive after consumption, so know what you’re putting into your body!
-
Make Whatever Amount You Want!
If you want to make a lot of Hot Cocoa or a little, it’s all up to you! Making a lot can be beneficial because then you’re stocked up. However, if you’re like me, and you lack self-control, and you don’t want to drink Hot Cocoa every night before bed… Then maybe you’d rather make a small batch instead of having easy access to a big jar of Cocoa Mix in the house.
