Herbal Conditioner Rinse

A Conditioner for your hair is something that is meant to lubricate the hair shaft, keeping it soft and preventing the hair from breakage. If you are using a natural shampoo you’ll also want a conditioner that will lock in moisture.  This conditioner rinse is meant to be used in partner with a natural homemade shampoo. Directions:

Heat water in double boiler, add tea bag and let sit for 10 minute.

Add apple cider vinegar and piece of rosemary. Let sit for 5 minutes, then take out rosemary piece.

Add jojoba oil, mix, and let sit 3-5 minutes.

Directions for use:

Leave on for at least 5 minutes and then rinse, or you can even skip the rinse and leave it on your hair for the day. The vinegar smell will fade once your hair is dry.

Benefits of Ingredients:

Apple Cider Vinegar will relive itchy scalp, dandruff and balances pH levels of your scalp and hair. If you are a blonde, and you’d like to amplify the golden hair, you can try using regular white vinegar as a substitute.

Herbal Tea is a great base for your hair, we chose to use Green Tea, but you can use whatever suits you best.  Green Tea is loaded with antioxidants that promote hair growth.  It can even prevent hair loss.

Jojoba Oil is super moisturizing and great for hair growth! The oil possesses antifungal properties that maintain the health of the scalp. It has Vitamin E, and Omega 6 &9. The fatty acids in Jojoba oil really nourish our hair follicles. It helps clean the scalp and keep the scalp hydrated. If you don’t have Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil can also be used as it too is a great moisturizer for your hair and is filled with healthy properties!

Rosemary will prevent thinning of the hair and can even prevent graying hair, it is loaded with antioxidants and will increase blood circulation to the scalp which stimulates hair follicles for healthy growth.  If you have an itchy scalp, dandruff, or super oils hair, this oil will relief these symptoms because it controls sebum production.

Tea Tree Essential Oil moisturizes the scalp and relieves itching and drying, it will help you control your dandruff. This oil is a mild sensitizer, so always do a spot test on your skin first.

Lemon Essential Oil will help treating dandruff, but be aware that it is photoxic, so avoid leaving it on your scalp if you will be going directly out in the sun.

Lavender or Peppermint Essential Oil, both stimulate hair growth by increasing blood flow and rejuvenating hair follicles, and if you really want, you could use both in the recipe! Peppermint unclogs pores and allows for the normal turnover of skin cells, which makes it great to fight a dry scalp. Lavender is antimicrobial and an antiseptic. It balances sebum production, and can also help with dandruff or overly oily scalps.

Enjoy!
