Benefits of Sunflower Oil

We choose all of our ingredients intentionally and this could not be more true with Sunflower Oil which you can find in our Organic Soap Bars and Organic Liquid Soaps.  As you will see, our soaps not only cleanse your skin they help your skin as well.

Sunflower Oil is an effective emollient.  Using natural ingredients such as Sunflower Oil in our soaps moisturizes your skin and ensures your skin isn't being stripped of its natural oils ~ which is what petroleum-based soaps do.

Did you know that all soaps that aren't plant-based are actually detergents derived from Petroleum?  See our A Soap Is Not a Soap, Unless It's a Soap post on the Kristine Sperling Wellness Blog.

Properties and Benefits of Sunflower Oil

Vitamin E

Vitamin E increases the moisturizing impact of our soaps because it helps to retain moisture in your skin which increases your skin barrier. Your skin is your largest organ.  One of its functions is to act as a barrier between your body and the environment.  It limits the absorption of allergens, irritants, and harmful germs from entering your body and also limits the loss of water.

It acts as a natural sun protectant and as such helps skin continue to appear young. Vitamin E boosts collagen production in your skin which also helps you retain your youthful appearance.

Vitamins A, C and D

With Vitamin E, Sunflower Oil helps fight acne because of its Vitamin A, C and D content.  It helps regenerate new skin cells and rid your skin of harmful bacteria that can increases the presence of acne.

Beta-Carotene

The rich levels of Beta-Carotene convert to Vitamin A.

Omega-6 Fatty Acid

Omega-6 Fatty Acid helps to heal small abrasions and wounds and speed healing in general. It's normal for 60-90% of what your skin comes in contact with to be absorbed into your body.  However, the health of your skin directly impacts can compromise this function.  Linoleic Acid directly improves the barrier of your skin and help keep harmful stuff out.
